Galambila Cultural Tour

Galambila’s Aboriginal Mental Health Access Improvement Project extends an invitation for health professionals to participate in an interactive cultural tour to develop a “Journey of Knowing for Wellbeing” of the Gumbaynggirr people.

Key learnings include:

  • Understanding of Aboriginal Cultural Systems and Frameworks
  • Aboriginal Nations protocols, family and kinship systems
  • The importance of cultural frameworks and principles in a modern context
  • Traditional and contemporary Aboriginal identity
  • Building relationships with Aboriginal people, and their communities
  • Current National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Initiatives, Closing the Gap, PIPI IHI
  • Good practices for cultural safety
