Healthy Towns Community Action Plan Launched in Maclean

Community members and service providers came together in Maclean to celebrate the launch of North Coast Primary Health Network’s Healthy Towns Community Action Plan in June.

Following 18 months of community consultation and co-design, NCPHN is funding almost $200,000 of community health and wellbeing initiatives in Maclean.

Attendees at the launch event, held at the Maclean Bowling Club, enjoyed light refreshments and heard about initiatives to be funded in the community. These include:

  • Maclean interagency Service Centre
  • Community Calendar
  • Camps and activities for young people
  • Mental health first aid training
  • Food pantry
  • Health and wellbeing groups

The Community Action Plan outlines key demographics of the Maclean community and lists each of the initiatives being funded. Download your copy here:

Next steps for the Healthy Towns program include implementation of local initiatives and a formal evaluation to determine the impact of the program in communities. Action Plan launches in Casino and Evans Head are coming up soon.
