Immunisation

The North Coast Primary Health Network (NCPHN) Immunisation program provides support and assistance to immunisation providers on the North and Mid North Coast of NSW.

NCPHN works in collaboration with local Public Health Units and other stakeholders to promote immunisation and provide assistance and recommendations, according to the North Coast NSW Immunisation Action Plan 2016-2018, the National Immunisation Strategy for Australia 2013-2018 and the Australian Immunisation Handbook (links below).

To help improve immunisation rates across the North Coast, we collectively work towards:

  • Immunisation providers implementing the 3Rs: “Report, Recall, Remind” and other quality improvement measures
  • The region being well supplied with health professionals skilled in providing effective immunisations
  • The increase of positive messaging of immunisations through engagement and communication with stakeholders
Clinicians can visit our HealthPathways website for up-to-date local information regarding immunisation schedules and other immunisation resources for general practice: click here

NCPHN Immunisation Initiatives

As part of the wider Measuring for Improvement program, Immunisation MI provides General Practice with up to date guides and reports that help them have relevant up to date data. This enables accurate reporting in the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) and better Recall and Reminder process. Sign up your practice today.

We provide all the current changes to the National Immunisation Program twice a year through events run across the region.

We provide 50% scholarships to nurses to complete the Australian College of Nursing Immunisation Course. Click here for details on the course.

We keep our practitioners up to date on changes to National Immunisation Program and information that motivates best practice through our practitioner newsletter, Health Pathways and practice support visits.

NCPHN works with practices to ensure that immunisation data is recorded correctly in clinical software and in the Australian Immunisation Register. This ensures that all Australians have an accurate Immunisation History and there is no impact to Family Tax Benefit payments and daycare enrolments as a result of incorrect immunisation history. As part of this initiative NCPHN, in collaboration with North Coast Public Health Unit, have developed guidelines for immunisation data management. This guide can be found here.
